NCTV17’s “Naperville Sports Weekly” Resumes Play
Commentary, highlights, and feature stories
from all five Naperville area high schools

“Naperville Sports Weekly” will kick off its second highly anticipated season on Naperville Community Television, Channel 17 on Sunday, August 31, 2008 at 9:30 p.m. Building on last year’s enthusiastically received inaugural year, the station’s sports production teams are set to cover every varsity sport from all five Naperville area high schools: Benet Academy, Naperville Central, Naperville North, Neuqua Valley, and Waubonsie Valley. The fast paced half hour show features highlights, scores, fan reactions, and in-depth stories unavailable anywhere else. Additionally, “Naperville Sports Weekly” features commentary from coaches and local sports experts, including sports editors/reporters from The Naperville Sun and The Daily Herald.
“Naperville Sports Weekly” production teams are out all week capturing footage and sound bytes from the games and sporting events; an all new show begins airing each Sunday night and continues to air multiple times throughout the week. Viewers have three ways to watch: On Channel 17 and at NCTV17.com through simultaneous streaming and on-demand. Simultaneous streaming is provided by Zezan Data Center. The complete schedule can also be found at NCTV17.com.
“We received an overwhelmingly positive response to ‘Naperville Sports Weekly’ last year,” explained Elizabeth Braham Spencer, Executive Director for NCTV17. “This year promises to be even more exciting.”
State-winning Naperville North Football Coach Larry McKeon also highly anticipates “Naperville Sport’s Weekly’s” return as he remarked, “In depth coverage, interviews with players and coaches, and the play by play evaluation by the NCTV staff, made our football season even more exciting. Our players look forward to watching the replays and highlights of the games on our local channel.”
“ Naperville Sports Weekly” is being made possible through the partnership of several returning community sponsors, including: Comcast, Discount Tire, Harris Bank, Lakeside Family Practice, M&M Orthopaedics and WOW! Thanks in part to these sponsors last year “Naperville Sports Weekly” was able to follow six different teams across Illinois en route to state championships, including at least one from each of the five high schools followed.
